Green Key to offer online sustainability training for hotel staff

by: Felicity Cousins | January 25, 2024

WORLDWIDE: Green Key has partnered with Ecolab and Lobster Ink, an online training provider, to create sustainability training for hotels teams.

The collaboration aims to educate and inspire individuals within the hotel sector to adopt best practice in sustainability in the hope it will drive positive change within the workplace.

The content of the sustainability course has been developed by both Green Key and Lobster Ink and includes a series of four modules focusing on practical insights such as the importance of planning and communicating sustainability, and how to prompt waste reduction, energy conservation and responsible consumption.

The content is designed to be adaptable, acknowledging the diverse operational contexts within different hotels, from a boutique hotel to a large chain.

Lobster Ink, is  a division of Ecolab which is a global leader in water, hygiene and infection prevention solutions and services. The company delivers science-based solutions to advance food safety, help maintain clean and safe environments, optimise water and energy use, and improve operational efficiencies and sustainability for customers in the food, healthcare, hospitality and industrial markets in more than 170 countries around the world.

Sustainability training for hotel staff is growing as more regulations and directives come into play around ESG and sustainable practices in the process of reaching net zero. We recently covered the Energy and Environment Alliance’s training course for hotel executives. You can read more about that here.
