WORLDWIDE: Hilton has been recognised for both the World and North America Dow Jones Sustainability Indices for the seventh consecutive year.

It remains the only hospitality company recognised by the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices, a well-regarded ranking for corporate sustainability performance.

Hilton was the first major hotel company to set science-based carbon targets validated by the Science Based Targets initiative. Its proprietary ESG management system, LightStay, measures performance and tracks progress towards its Travel with Purpose 2030 goals across nearly 7,400 hotels worldwide.

Since its launch in 2009, LightStay data shows that Hilton’s global portfolio of hotels have reduced their carbon emissions intensity by 44 per cent and saved more than $1 billion in utility costs.

Katherine Lugar, executive vice president, corporate affairs, Hilton said: “Hilton was founded on the belief that hospitality can be a powerful force for good, and that founding purpose still guides us today in the work we do to care for our communities, advance opportunity, and protect the environment.”

Hilton released information on its pilot food waste project at COP 28, which was conducted over four months at selected hotels in the UAE – including the Conrad Dubai pictured above. It saw a 62 per cent reduction in food waste. The global hotel group was also recently voted Best Workplaces for Women US list by Fortune and Great Place to Work.
