UK: London’s easyHotel Victoria has completed a £2 million refurbishment with the brand’s latest low carbon design.

All 105 rooms have been refreshed with low-carbon design elements including the replacement of gas radiators with electric heating which reduces energy consumption per sleeper by 19 per cent.

Additional changes include low-flow showers to reduce water usage, and introduction of refillable shower gel and biodegradable toilet paper which has cut plastic waste annually by 60 per cent.

easyHotel Victoria has also been recognised by Green Tourism with GOLD certification, showing it has achieved +80 per cent of sustainable actions according to the Green Tourism criteria.

The hotel refurbishment also includes new mattresses, fast wifi and improved soundproofing, as well as 13 superior rooms with new workspaces designed for business travellers.

The £2 million refurbishment of the franchisee comes as part of easyHotel’s ongoing commitment to reducing its environmental impact following a separate £6.4 million investment across the Group’s owned and leased properties, which was aimed at cutting CO2 emissions by 25 per cent.

Karim Malak, CEO of easyHotel, commented: “easyHotel London Victoria has been part of our franchise network since 2007 and it’s great to see them reinvesting into the hotel to bring a fresh and modern new look.

“Our model of centrally located hotels, like London Victoria, coupled with smartly designed low-carbon compact rooms means our great value price have made them very popular for those looking to explore one of the world’s greatest cities without overspending on a hotel.”
