SPAIN: Hybrid hospitality pioneer, The Social Hub (TSH), is opening its third hotel in Spain tomorrow, in the Basque region.
The Social Hub San Sebastián will open its doors on February 1st, 2024 and is the seventeenth property from the Amsterdam-based hospitality brand.
As the company’s third hotel in Spain, after openings in Barcelona and Madrid, and properties being developed in Porto and Lisbon, The Social Hub is continuing its expansion across Iberia.
TSH is a pioneer in the hospitality space offering a hybrid model where travellers, locals, entrepreneurs, students and business travellers come together to learn, stay, work, and play.
The San Sebastián property has been developed with spaces tailored to blend the diverse members of its community, including leisure and business travellers, digital nomads, co-workers, students and locals.
The Social Hub San Sebastián offers 328 rooms, and features a rooftop swimming pool, an extensive co-working facility with offices and dedicated desks, meeting and events spaces up to 550 sqm, a public restaurant open for lunch and dinner, a grab-and-go café and shop, a community kitchen, and a gym.
Charlie MacGregor, CEO and founder of The Social Hub said: “After the warm welcome in Barcelona and Madrid and having built closely-knit communities there, our objective is to continue to grow and engage with our guests in the region, providing them with an unrivalled experience that is tailored to their needs: whether it’s staying for an overnight leisure visit or a full student semester, working from our hubs, participating in our extensive community-focused experiences, or simply enjoying our dining facilities with loved ones.
“Ultimately, our purpose is to create a better society through spaces and initiatives that facilitate meaningful connections and a strong community; we hope that The Social Hub San Sebastián will do just that.”
The hotel’s community offerings include activities for guests and San Sebastián residents from educational programmes such as language classes to mindfulness and fitness classes, as well as cultural events open to the public.
Founded in 2012, The Social Hub is headquartered in Amsterdam and has hotels located across Europe. The company aims to connect and create a unique community of travellers, students, business professionals and local people.
Locations amount to 23, including 17 hotels and more than 10,000 rooms currently operating in Amsterdam (two hubs), Barcelona, Berlin, Bologna, Delft, Eindhoven, Florence, Groningen, Maastricht, Madrid, Paris, Rotterdam, San Sebastián, The Hague, Toulouse, and Vienna.
Six ‘hubs’ are currently in development including Glasgow (we will be bringing you more information on this soon), Porto and Florence Belfiore, Rome, Lisbon and Turin.
