EUROPE: STAY Camden has won the award for sustainability at The Altos London, which took place this week.
The event by the global corporate lodging platform AltoVita, was attended by around 150 people at Landing Forty Two in London.
During an afternoon of thought leadership and industry expertise, across panel debates looking at the corporate accommodation landscape across the EMEA region, Sustainable Hotel News moderated a panel on navigating the new sustainability rules.
Editor, Felicity Cousins talked to James Fry, founder and CEO of Beyond Apartments and Aparthotels, Sarah Whiting channel solutions lead at Thrust Carbon and Vanessa de Souza Lage CEO and co-founder of Sustonica a sustainable accreditation company.
The debate was lively, with looking at how the new EU regulations, with the CSRD coming into play in January, might impact on the hospitality space, with increased scrutiny on large company’s emissions, as well as scope 3 coming undertake microscope.
Full disclosure on emissions will impact on hotels and serviced apartments being part of that value chain. The discussion looked at how the sector should be collecting and reporting that data as well as what needs to be done as a whole with collaboration and alignment.
Other panels included a focus on corporate travel, a future trends discussion and a one-to-one session with Vivi Cahyadi Himmel, CEO & co-founder AltoVita and Karen Hutchings, global head of travel meetings & events, EY.
The evening brought the Altos awards with more than 60 entries covering categories ranging from technology and DEI to interior design and sustainability. For the full list of entries and short list click here.
