I was delighted to attend GoodandCo.'s inaugural Women in Sustainable Hospitality (WISH) dinner this week at the 1 Hotel Mayfair, pictured above. I met some fantastic women and had some great conversations around the challenges, and the positives, across the industry.
This week was also the 30th anniversary of the Business Travel Show Europe. I've been going to this show for many years – I think my first one was in 2006 – and it's always been a super friendly place to meet and catch up with industry friends and colleagues, find news and learn from the experts. I was pleased to attend the discussion "Let's make business travel truly accessible" with Carolyn Pearson - Maiden Voyage, Justine Baynes - British Wheelchair Basketball and Helen Moon - EventWell. More on this subject to come!
Below we have the recording from our Sustainable Hotel Exchange: Data Matters webinar.
Next in the series is the Sustainable Hotel Exchange: DEI Matters on July 10th. We'll let you know when the link is live to register, but do join us as we are lining up some fantastic people for the chat.
Check out other news from this week below.
Until next time,

A new global industry organisation, the Nature Resort Development Alliance (NRDA), has been announced with a platform encouraging collaboration across the sector.
A Nature Resort is a type of holiday destination designed to give guests “an immersive experience in a natural setting”.
These resorts are typically located in areas of significant natural beauty, such as forests, mountains, beaches, lakes, or deserts.
The NRDA’s goal is to support industry leaders by offering access to education, best practices, governance, and guidance across critical areas such as sustainability, biodiversity, design, habitat preservation, and operational excellence.

Good&Co. the sustainability and hospitality consultancy has launched Women in Sustainable Hospitality (WISH) with an inaugural meal at the 1 Hotel Mayfair last night.
The idea of the roundtable event was to bring together women in hospitality and sustainability to talk about the challenges and success they have in their roles and to connect and support each other.
Jo Geneen co-founder of Good&Co. said: “We founded WISH so that senior women across the hospitality industry – owners, operators, tech and trade associations, working in sustainability could come together, learn and share and also support one another.

The WSTHAs were launched in January as a sister event to the established World Travel Awards, in partnership with the World Sustainable Hospitality Alliance.
They have been created to “recognise, celebrate, and share the stories of individuals and organisations that are accelerating change and making an impactful contribution in sustainable travel and tourism”.

Global travel management company BCD Travel has conducted a study to explore trends and priorities in corporate travel, with sustainability seen as not an immediate priority for business travel policies.
More than 200 travel buyers worldwide took part in the survey and were asked about topics including, the purpose of a trip, traveller wellbeing, sustainable travel, DEI and bleisure travel.
While sustainability is growing in importance in the industry, less than half of respondents said sustainable travel is included in their policy. This is in line with a BCD survey from last summer, which found only 45 per cent of companies have targets for sustainable business travel.
