WORLDWIDE: Global Business Travel Association (GBTA) has appointed SilverDoor’s Pauline Houston as the first chairperson of its newly formed WINiT EMEA Chapter.
SilverDoor’s senior vice president of business development is the first chair for the newly formed WINiT EMEA Chapter, an extension of GBTA’s WINiT the non-profit organisation, which provides support, training and advice to help guide career development within the business travel, meetings, events industries.
WINiT EMEA Chapter will work to build a community in EMEA for women in the business travel industry and will focus on funding and driving initiatives that foster sustainability, inclusion and gender equity, to help all women within the industry thrive in their careers.
As chairperson Houston will be responsible for delivering strategy across EMEA and will work alongside Catherine Logan, regional senior vice president, EMEA & APAC for GBTA, and partners across the GBTA network to communicate and deliver the benefits of the organisation throughout the region.
Houston said: “I have been a long-standing admirer of the work of the GBTA WINiT programme and the valuable role it plays within the industry to advocate and guide positive change for so many of the people that work within it.
“As an industry body it has a responsibility as we all do, to continue to inform and deliver opportunities for all. Supporting the thousands of women who work within the industry is something I am incredibly passionate about and I look forward to working with the WINiT Strategic Advisory Board to delivering those opportunities and valuable support to our colleagues and partners across EMEA.”
