UK: With the Independent Hotel Show, London just ten days away, we provide an overview of what the ESG Hub at the show will offer.
This year’s edition of the Independent Hotel Show, will take place on 15-16th October at Olympia London. As media partners for the event we bring you an overview of what to expect when it comes to sustainability at the show.
In the ESG Zone, hoteliers will have the opportunity to meet with ESG-centric brands including toilet roll supplier Who Gives a Crap, fitness brand Dyaco, Dale Leisure, and food waste collection specialist Keenan Recycling.
Combining sustainable design with educational activities, the ESG Hub is set to inspire industry leaders to make meaningful changes in hospitality. With a range of interactive sessions and expert-led discussions, the Hub will provide attendees with the tools to address sustainability challenges and explore responsible business practices.
A standout feature will be the Sustainability in Action wall, where visitors can share their sustainability challenges. Insights gathered will help form a framework for practical, industry-specific sustainability solutions.
This collaborative initiative will be guided by experts including Sarah Duncan, author of The Sustainable Business Book, Tommie and Austin Eaton from Clean the World, and Grace Greensitt, CEO of the Global Sustainability Index.
Austin Eaton, head of marketing for Clean the World Europe and UK said: “Clean the World is delighted to be supporting the ESG Hub at the Independent Hotel Show again this year in London. We are dedicated to helping the hospitality industry create long-term sustainable impact, and this platform allows us to further engage with industry leaders and inspire actionable change.”
Food industry carbon reporting company Klimato will also have the educational ‘Guess the Carbon Footprint’ cards to highlight the importance of understanding the carbon footprint of menus, and the impact that can be made through small changes.
The Burnt Chef Project will also be drawing attention to mental health in hospitality with an interactive game of Sustainability Snap.
Founder Kris Hall, a vocal advocate for mental health awareness in the industry, highlights the importance of integrating well-being into sustainability efforts: “At The Burnt Chef Project, our mission has always been to raise awareness of the challenges our industry faces, and provide mental health support and education to ensure the sustainability of the people who make up the beating heart of our industry.
“Through our ‘Sustainability Snap’ game, we aim to engage attendees in a fun yet thought-provoking way, shining a light on the importance of mental health and how sustainable practices must extend to the well-being of hospitality workers.”
The design of the ESG Hub itself, led by Timna Rose, founder and creative director of studio ATARA, is an embodiment of sustainable principles. It features eco-friendly materials and elements rooted in the circular economy.
As official media partners, Sustainable Hotel News is looking forward to the show and reporting on any sustainability stories.
