UK: Dorchester Collection has been recognised for supporting LGBTQ+ staff and customers, achieving Gold in the Stonewall Workplace Equality Index.

Stonewall was founded in 1989 with the aim to break down barriers to equality and the charity campaigns and lobbies the government to change laws to ensure everyone, everywhere, is free to be themselves.

The charity aims to eliminate homophobia, biphobia and transphobia in communities, and empowers LGBT people and their allies to be role models wherever they live, work, shop, socialise or pray.

Stonewall’s Top 100 list recognises exceptional employers who are committed to supporting their LGBTQ+ staff and customers and Dorchester Collection has secured a place on the list for leading LGBTQ+ inclusive employers.

The hotel group was involved in a range of activities over Pride hosted globally, with its pillars of Educate, Communicate and Celebrate brought to life.

To drive deeper understanding of the LGBTQIA+ community and nurture empathy, educational campaigns, blogs and Pride-themed notice boards were created across the hotel group’s properties.

LGBTQIA+ educational sessions and guest speakers from the LGBTQ+ community were also hosted, with the aim to create a safe space to ask questions, have open conversations and learn.

Pride-themed quizzes were also held with prizes from LGBTQIA+ owned business to support the local communities around the hotels, and LGBTQIA+ colleagues were celebrated with the hotel group’s Pride LinkedIn posts in the PROUDest achievements campaign.

Dorchester Collection’s diversity, inclusion and belonging are core beliefs of its WE CARE philosophy.

In a post on LinkedIn Dorchester Collection said: “We are honoured that our efforts, not just during Pride, but year-round have been recognised by Europe’s largest charity for LGBTQ+ rights.

“We are incredibly proud of this achievement and look forward to continuing our work to support and champion the rights of our LGBTQ+ community.”
