UK: The Sustainable Hospitality Alliance has partnered with d20 in an effort to help members collect data and reduce carbonisation.
D20 has also been announced as the primary sponsor of the Sustainable Hospitality Alliance’s most recent sustainable education resource, the Net Positive Hospitality Simulation, with a “substantial financial donation” to the Alliance in the coming three years.
Joining other affiliate members, d2o will work with the Alliance to help its members meet their decarbonisation goals using PMI GoGreen, which is a predictive and prescriptive analytics tool.
The tool helps hotels to reduce CO2 emissions from energy, water, waste, food waste, chemicals and towels and linen as data is uploaded directly into PMI Go Green. Scope 1 & 2 are captured and it is all in line with the EU Taxonomy.
With the data uploaded, the tool allows hotels to set long-term environmental goals within the monthly targets, ensuring objectives are actionable and trackable.
PMI Go Green was implemented by Pandox last year across 15 European hotels. Over five months Pandox reduced electricity usage by 10.5 per cent and saved more than €186,000. The idea is that the data is used beyond reporting and goes further by encouraging behavioural change in daily actions to reduce energy consumption per square meter and per guest night.
Glenn Mandziuk, chief executive officer of the Sustainable Hospitality Alliance said: “The addition of d2o to the Alliance is significant, both as an affiliate member and a sponsor.
“The affiliation and activity between our two organisations have the potential to transform the sustainability of the industry landscape substantially and positively.”
D2o was founded more than 20 years ago in Norway and built on Scandinavia’s employee well-being and sustainability legacy. The company operates globally, working with more than 10,000 hoteliers and restaurateurs in more than 40 countries.
Young Nguyen, founder & CEO of d2o, said: “It’s every CEO’s dream to have a product that makes every single stakeholder happy. We look forward to working with Glenn and his team to showcase to Alliance’s members how sustainability can be integrated into daily total profit management.”
