UK: The Headland Hotel in Cornwall has appointed Bethany Branigan as its new Sustainability Lead.
Transitioning from Mercato Metropolitano in London, Branigan will drive the hotel’s eco-friendly initiatives as it aims for EarthCheck silver certification.
In her role, Branigan will craft and implement a sustainability policy that engages both team members and guests in the hotel’s commitment to environmental stewardship.
“Bethany’s leadership will be vital as we cultivate a culture of sustainability that enriches our guest experiences and benefits the environment,” said Veryan Palmer, family director.
Branigan is dedicated to pioneering strategies that reduce waste, enhance energy efficiency, and encourage local sourcing.
A post from the hotel on LinkedIn noted Branigan’s “vision aligns perfectly with our goal of making The Headland Hotel a benchmark for eco-conscious practices.”
Last year we reported on the hotel planning to install hundreds of solar panels in its grounds. The solar panels would mean the five star hotel could reduce its carbon footprint by 70 tonnes of CO2 a year, cutting its reliance on the National Grid by 30 per cent.
