EUROPE: The World Sustainable Hospitality Alliance has today named Peter Andrews as its new director of programmes & chief of staff.
Andrews will bring his expertise in sustainability, consumer insights, and ethical trade, to the Alliance to help with its commitment to driving sustainable transformation across the global hospitality sector.
Andrews previously worked as director of consumer rights, innovation & impact at Consumers International, which saw him take the lead on initiatives on sustainable consumption, energy transition, and the future of food, amplifying the consumer voice and driving systems change to address global challenges.
Prior to his time at Consumers International, Andrews served as head of sustainability policy at the British Retail Consortium where he spearheaded the creation of the industry’s first Climate Action Roadmap, which set the target of Net Zero emissions by 2040 and influenced the development of the UN’s Race to Zero: Breakthroughs Retail Campaign.
His new role will see him leading the development and implementation of the Alliance’s programmes such as the Net Positive Pathway, High Ambition Movers and Accelerators towards achieving Net Positive Hospitality, as well as strategic planning with Glenn Mandziuk, CEO.
Peter Andrews, director of programmes & chief of staff of the World Sustainable Hospitality Alliance said: “I am pleased to join the Alliance at such a pivotal time for the organisation and the industry.
