UK: The International Centre for Responsible Tourism global (ICRT global) has appointed professor Willy Legrand as special advisor.

Legrand is professor of Sustainable Business, Tourism and Hospitality Management at the IU International University of Applied Sciences in Germany.

His work bridges academia and industry, influencing hotel groups, policymakers, and educators worldwide.

Legrand is globally recognised for his pioneering research and thought leadership in sustainable hospitality, climate action, and circular economy practices within tourism.

He is co-author of the seminal textbook Sustainability in the Hospitality industry: Principles of Sustainable Operations and serves as co-editor for the Journal of Global Responsibility.

ICRT global founder Harold Goodwin said: “Willy Legrand is a leading voice in sustainable hospitality whose research and advocacy have shaped the sector’s response to climate change. His global perspective and rigorous approach will strengthen our mission to support the changemakers of the future.”

Legrand said: “I am delighted to join ICRT global as a Special Advisor. Its commitment to responsible tourism aligns with my own values and research and I look forward to contributing to its global agenda and supporting transformative change in hospitality and tourism.”

The International Centre for Responsible Tourism global (ICRT global) was launched last year by Debbie Hindle, responsible tourism expert and Emeritus Professor Harold Goodwin, to offer bespoke and online training courses and guidance to Universities on responsible tourism across the globe.
