BWH Hotels GB teams up with Replacer to help with sustainable suppliers

UK: BWH Hotels GB has partnered with sustainability platform, Replacer, which helps hotels choose more sustainable options across their operations.

The platform has a solutions catalogue and hotel clients can choose from a long list of problematic items such as water bottles, single-use toiletries, cleaning product containers, tea bags and even swimming hats, all of which can be replaced for more sustainable alternatives.

Replacer also has a ROI calculator to evaluate both financial and material impacts of those choices, as well as the ability to connect with new suppliers and receive customised quotes.

The platform is also useful for those wanting to persuade stakeholders in their hotel about decisions as it “gives you the arguments you need to make your case for switching out unsustainable products.”

CEO and co founder Replacer, Ed Perryman said: “We started Replacer because despite progress in recent years, there is still more investment overall in sustainability reporting than in implementing solutions. We wanted to help bridge the knowledge gap between good intentions and good data, and tangible action.”

Perryman said of the partnership: “What we love about our collaboration with BWH Hotels GB is that it is equipping its hotels not only with our tool, but also with access to our team; we’ll be delivering online and in-person workshops, getting to know colleagues across the hotels, and building impact case studies to ensure we learn from one another and inspire more circular economy action across the group.

“The goal of this partnership is to achieve long-term, impactful change in sustainable hotel practices.”

Replacer will sit alongside BWH Hotels GB’s REST accreditation scheme and its carbon calculator with Zero Carbon Forum, with a focus on tackling single-use and disposable waste, harmful chemicals, and overconsumption of resources like energy and water.
