UK: The Be Inclusive Hospitality Spotlight Awards, which champion diverse talent in hospitality, are still open for nominations – until tomorrow evening.
Hospitality workers have until 11.59pm on Friday 3rd August to nominate team members, colleagues and peers for the Be Inclusive Hospitality Spotlight Awards.
Be Inclusive Hospitality (BIH) was founded by Lorraine Copes in July 2020 as a social enterprise and a not-for-profit organisation.
“Our overarching mission is to advance racial equity within the Hospitality, Food & Drink industries. Be Inclusive Hospitality was founded due to the consistent underrepresentation of people of colour in influential roles and the supply chain. It was born from a commitment to address this disparity and bring positive change.”
BIH found that fewer than 2 per cent of winners across industry hospitality awards were ethnically diverse, and so the awards were launched to celebrate talent and achievements of ethnically diverse hospitality professionals.
The 13 categories include individual, business and cuisine and a panel of judges will select winners includsing two people’s choice awards.
