WORLDWIDE: All-inclusive holiday resort company, Club Med, has partnered with the Sustainable Hospitality Alliance (the Alliance).
Since 2018 around 70 per cent of new or majorly renovated Club Med resorts have been built to globally recognised BREEAM standards.
Most resorts also have Green Globe certifications – recently Club Med Michès Playa Esmeralda was awarded its first certification and Green Globe has certified 80 per cent of Club Med resorts.
In 2020, four resorts were awarded Platinum status (10 years of continuous certification) and four achieved Gold status (5 years of continuous certification). Club Med Michès Playa Esmeralda is the newest member in the growing list of properties dedicated to sustainable practices.
The group also has a “Bye Bye Plastic” programme, aimed at eliminating single-use plastic from its resorts. Check out our piece on single-use plastic and hotels below.
